Arizona Hummingbirds 2010

This was my third visit to Huachuca Mountains,SE Arizona in 3 years. It seems like each time I visited there there was always something I couldn't do and one thing I couldn't do last year was not be able to see Blue-throated hummingbird. Since that was my target bird last year it was a little disappointing. Before I came to Beatty's Guest Ranch,I contacted the ranch owner, Tom Beatty,about the situation of Blue-throated.
He told me that it was quite active at the hummingbird viewing site and that's all I wanted to hear.

And it didn't disappoint me.

Not only I could get my target bird,I also had some good opportunities to shoot Magnificent hummingbirds. And my luck continued when I was doing multiple flash shoots outside the cabin.Unexpectedly,a Violet-crowned hummingbird showed up at my feeder and I was able to get an excellent Violet-crowned in-flight shot. Though I didn't get as many shots as last year,I certainly got what I wanted and then some.
